The whole of Mwadui had a make-over for the visit by HRH Princess Margaret, and the big day was declared a holiday for all employe
es.

Myself with my younger brother, along with our neighbours girl Gina waiting by the foundation stone to be tapped by HRH The Princess Margaret.

HRH The Princess Margaret duly arrived from Mwadui airport in a maroon Mercedes Benz and taps the four corners of the foundation stone for the new Church. A sound system was installed but she never uttered a word.

HRH Princess Margaret eying the diamonds in the sorting house after tapping the foundation stone for the new Church in 1956. Unfortunately Dr Williamson was extremely ill with throat cancer and left Mwadui to fly to Montreal for specialist treatment just two days before the Royal visit.
